when can we return?
WE went to relatives in College Station. Husband is REALLY wanting to come home, of course. He is wanting to ask "the authorities" when can we come home. Anybody have an "answer" for him? Our house is on Fortune Drive, off Alexander Drive. We know the front of our house appears ok, but don't have anyone to go looking around the back for us. Know electricity is out. Any idea how long it will be out for that area? Rumors? Are MOST of the people still there in that area or returned? Anyone here know how badly damaged that immediate area is? He tried to call the City or the police to ask "when we can return" but didn't reach anyone who could tell him.
Any suggestions? Advice? INFO from our neighborhood??
Did most fare ok around there? Anyone wanting to communicate by email, we'd welcome it! Email: dpbottleman@yahoo.com
THANKS and good luck and blessings to all who are facing this aftermath.
Saw some news video of Garth road and the lines down there..wow.

RE: when can we return?
I have heard 1 to 4 weeks for power. By what I seen today i would be willing to bet we will have power within 7 days. If you would like I could drive by and take picture of your house tommorow. That is if I am not busy at work all day.

RE: when can we return?
I have a friend that lives in the same complex as me. She reported that there is no power, but there is water(not drinkable). Lots of trees down, some building damage for lesser built homes and buildings but most of Baytown did not get flooded. No gas and the walmart opens at 2 today but the line is around the building once. As soon as I know more I will post it.
