Please read this blog.

http://jackisteinhauer.blogspot.com/2008...ke-10.html

This is a teacher at Lee High that is bragging about stockpiling food (even though she has water and electricity) and trying to resport a false claim to FEMA because she believes she shoudl have gotten money from Rita.

It saddens me that this person is teaching our youth.

RE: Please read this blog.

While I do not agree with what Ms. Steinhauer has written, it was done most likely, out of frustration. How many times have YOU KRIS B said something you did not mean? How many times have you vented? How many times has someone turned around, stabbed YOU in the back, and ran their mouths about something you probably should not have said? I'm willing to bet you've had it happen to you. Granted, Ms. Steinhauer was less than wise to post her rant publically I do not believe for a minute that you are truly THAT offended simply by what she wrote.

You are trying to stir up a bunch of crap. Plain and simple.

If you are truly that offended report it to the authorities and let them handle it. Surely, in light of a hurricane you have more important things to worry about.

What is your real motivation for providing that link on this website?

Be honest. What is your beef with this individual? Did your child fail her class or something?

This is so transparent.

How, exactly, is Miss Steinhauer saying something she did not mean, when she is talking about what she did? She's not saying "I wish I could stockpile MRE's even though I don't need them" she's doing just that, and bragging about it.

First off, KrisB does not know Ms. Steinhauer, nor do I. We both simply came across her blog on another forum we frequent. One cannot stab the back of someone she does not know and who does not know said stabber. They're aren't any connections between them that would make it work.

You are right here that she was not wise to put this information out on the internet. However, how in the world is a person not supposed to be offended and/or upset by this. KrisB and I are both residents of Harris County, and we both know people who have been severely affected by this and other hurricanes. Reading about such a selfish person made me sick, and I'm certain it had the same effect on KrisB. It has had enough of an effect on others to result in (at this time) 174 angry comments to the blog entry in question. Some are more rude than others, however there appears to be a pretty good agreement that what Ms. Steinhauer did was wrong.

By posting here, KrisB was letting Ms. Stinehauer's neighbors know what is going on in their community. When it makes the local (and possibly national, as calls have been made from out of state to Judge Emmett's office on the subject) news, will you say the newscasters are trying to stir up crap? I'm wondering if you are stockpiling MRE's along with Ms. Steinhauer.

This has been done. Judge Emmett's office has been contacted, as has news media all over the country. This bulletin board was not the first stop in letting people know what was going on.

Is concern that those who actually need these supplies may be short-changed not enough for you?

Come. On. Even the most obsessed helicopter parent would not use these means to get back at a teacher who failed their kid.

I think you should have your vision checked.

RE: Please read this blog.

What she did was beyond stupid and irresponsible, however, does she deserve death threats? Does she deserve dozens of comments calling her every name in the book, belittling her appearance, degrading her for reasons that have nothing to do with what people are so mad about? Does she deserve her home address posted on the internet? That knitmeg, sounds mighty personal to me.

Can you honestly justify that?

OF COURSE newscasters stir up crap! That is their job! You cannot be that naive. OF COURSE disgruntled students and parents stir up crap! It happens all the time! In fact, newscasters stir up crap about disgruntled students and parents stirring up crap! Come on!

Where do you live? Mayberry?

Unfortunately for you, you will have to continue to wonder if I'm "stockpiling" because I am not stupid enough to blog about it. That is one baseless accusation. I guess I must be "one of 'em" if I stick up for someone who is being treated in the manner I described above. No matter what she wrote she doesn't deserve to be verbally attacked in the way that many, many people are, stalked, and have her personal safety compromised.

There is nothing you can say that makes that ok.

RE: Please read this blog.

No, she doesn't deserve death threats, or to have horrible things said about her weight or anything other than what she did. I did not "out" her, nor did KrisB. The comments you describe are not the result of anything I posted on the internet, and only one of the comments was from me. I told her that what she was doing was awful--that was enough. I would point out my specific, non-threatening, comment but she finally took down the blog.

What, exactly, do you think I am justifying? I am merely one of the hundreds of people who told someone else about this blog and this person today. I "justify" my decision to do this because I thought it was something people should be aware of. If I knew people in Baytown who were looking for supplies I would want them to know where they could find them. I had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with any hateful comments or comments that shared her personal information. Posting her address was not OK, and other people commenting (whom I agree with) actually said that was going too far. Why should I have to say anything at all? It's not my place to try and fix what happened. My (and KrisB's) posting here on the big BaytownBB didn't make her any worse off.

RE: Please read this blog.

Now that public humiliation is raging and the woman will likely lose her job what should come next?

Should we stone her or burn her at the stake?

By the way, I don't have a problem with people reporting her insensitivity, stupidity, and irresponsibility. I am 100% for accountability and baring the consequences for one's actions. However, I have a problem with how that was done and what has occurred since. I don't know you, you don't know me. I don't know that you didn't post those hateful and potentially dangerous comments online. It doesn't matter if it was you that posted it. The point is, SOMEONE DID. Those that threatened her life and posted her personal address are just as bad IMO as her taking advantage of MRE that she did not need. THIS is the sole reason why I am speaking up. I do not think you were wrong to report it but I am not wrong for saying that 1) I believe there is more to it than meets the eye and 2) she has had her safety compromised.

If someone is stupid enough to harm her in any way the person(s) that posted her address will be in for paying some consequences of their own. IP addresses are very easy to track down.

At the end of the day, I think that emotions got the best of everyone. You and I do not disagree that what she did was some dirty, dirty stuff. If you wanted her life wrecked like some of Ike's victims you certainly got your wish. Baytown is too small for this to simply blow over.
