Colorado Law: 'Publishing of Discriminative Matter Forbidden'
This actually hits home for me, being as this is my home state now;

What does everyone think?
Should religions be able to publish discriminating material based on the basis that something is a sin?
I know opinion and free speech are protected, but is hate? Does this qualify as hate speak?

Was this law voted on? If so, I think they should have protested before not after the vote. Or turned up at the polls to vote against it. The bible is clear that we should follow the laws and render unto Cesar what is Cesars. I have friends and relative that are gay and I love them. I don't agree with their lifestyle and I will miss them when I get to heaven. JMO

I'm a little conflicted about this.
First, I support the freedom of speech. If you feel passionately about something, you should be able to produce and publish text and materials to spread your ideas, if you feel you want to. You shouldn't be censored.
Although, I don't think that promotion of hate against any portion of the population is going to help society to progress towards a more unified state.

Just curious G. Do you think Jeramiah Wright should have able to say the things he said?

There is a difference though. The reverend screams HATE. Christians speak love. We don't hate homosexuals. We believe their lifestyle is wrong, but we love the person. There are some radical fantatics like the reverend that do spread hate in the name of religion. But really, we just don't want homosexuality pushed on us or our children. If they would live quietly and leave us alone, we wouldn't have problems. We just want them to stop forcing themselves into our lives. We don't go to their homes and try to preach to them, but they come into our homes via TV and movies. We have it flaunted in our faces at every turn. Then you have things like the gay parade they had in San Francisco not long ago. There were men in sado-masochist costumes, leather and chains, doing horrible acts in public. Do they have to do such things in public in front of our children? We don't do things like that in public. Do you see where I'm coming from?
I'm also afraid that if they take away our rights on this, where will it stop? Will they one day be able to come into my church and arrest my pastor, or my husband just for saying that homosexuality is a sin? We're not hurting anyone. Seperation of church and state was originally designed to protect the churches from being controlled by the government. Should the government be able to censor our Bibles? It's not just freedom of speech. It's also seperation of church and state, and censorship. Do we not have the same rights as others?
