There is so much to explore on the Internet. I find something interesting, focus on it for a while and later, forget it is there. Especially, I enjoy looking through photos taken by some very talented people. For a few evenings, I was browsing through some material posted by a British man who had a photographer's field day when staying in New York. He has a very sensitive eye and with his camera, caught some unique people and places when staying in the Bronx. I browsed through the site and ended up on a Forum that is based in London, England. There I read many comments posted by those folks. One set of messages was fun to read because someone, planning a trip to Texas, was asking for advice. There, it is like anyone discussing a foreign place. They have little concept of how large Texas is. As if one has only to drive over to the beach then check out 6th Street in Austin before hopping over to Big Bend. Reports have it that Houston is not at all interesting. Austin is the favorite. Hands down. I have always been interested in Russia and there are some sites with pictures shot by very introspective photographers. More often than not, they tend to show a very seamy side.
And, Webcams. I forget they are there and so when I return to explore, there is always something new. This is a site I bookmarked, erased and found again.

I cannot imagine why someone would place a webcam in their home. Those I visited the other evening were sort of mundane with little activity. One evening I did return, a few times, to check on these two guys who are in Chicago. I think that they have gritty lifestyles but they appear to be harmless. One of them is very large and the other is the opposite. They were playing some Pink Floyd and both were totally wasted. The larger man was standing in front on his camera (apparently over an hour), staring into it. His buddy is weaving around behind him asking if he can bring this woman into the room for some fun. The first guy, "No! I told you NO! Now, sit down and shut the hell up!" Each time I looked back in on them, one is looking into the camera and the other is peeking around him, wanting to get into the shot. That's one thing I saw a lot of, peoples faces and nostrils. They are always in front of the camera. I am sure there is an indicator light that shows when they are beiing viewed.
Somewhere far into Europe, there is a camera in the living room of an older couple. The man is paunchy and often is directly in front of the camera; nose hairs and all. The last I checked, he was sitting on the couch in his undershirt glancing at the TV then back at the camera. He was very suspicious of the camera and was often glaring at it; like he was waiting for it to speak or something. I cannot imagine why they have the Webcam there unless family members want to be able to check on them.
I wandered around and found a site based in Africa where cameras are planted around a wildlife reserve/preserve. I did not see much activity but watched a few clips that turned out to be interesting. One shows two lions (brothers) chowing down on a fresh kill. The site offers information about this pair and the pride.
This morning, because I was curious about the hurricane, I looked in on some Key West Webcams. Most of them had been shut down but I did find one beach bar where several people were sitting around discussing the storm and getting tanked.
There are sites with cameras trained on household pets. One watches a pair of birds that sit on their perch staring back into the camera; like they are afraid to move. And, a few showing Mother dogs and their puppies. You see a weary animal laying back in resignation while a pack of hungry little critters are nuzzling in for some grub. The animal cams are much more interesting; they don't care who is watching.
Of course, after any time visiting these places, I do a thorough check and clean the PC. Sort of like washing your hands every time you visit a strange place. No telling what kind of germs one can pick up.
