Ok, this song is not deep, it has no meaning, and you won't be a better person for having heard it. You will, however, get to seriously rock it out with Golden Earring for 4 minutes and 43 seconds. 'Nuff said.
Now, THAT is my favorite in the car and on the Interstate turn it up and jam piece of music! You cannot play that song unless it is loud. This 60 somethingish lady loves Golden Earring. Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin and anything by the Stones. (The Beatles, of course)
I hear ya, niteOwl. I used to make the drive from Baytown to Galveston and back quite a bit a few years ago, and I remember this song coming on the radio from time to time. When it did, I absolutely had to roll the windows down and crank it as loud as I could. I wish I had been in a convertable, but rolling down the windows in my Datsun had to suffice. There's something about hearing this song blaring at night while the wind is rushing over you that makes it complete. And you're right, listening to this song down low defeats the entire purpose. It's meant to be "rocked."
Good song thankx...
NiteOwl1...Its really good to hear from you. How ya been Gurly...??
Have you been puttin Mick Jagger off from that big date?..What a pest he just wont leave you alone...
Hey Free... I'm just fine and I know you are, too. Poor Mick, can't put the man down 'cause, he's like me...if he gets down, he can't get back up again.
Good to see you around! It's fun to have "virtual" buddies when we know, for sure, they are real people. You....take care!
I remember this well... early 70's... came on the radio on the way back to Keesler AFB in Mississippi after a weekend back here at home. AND BOY, did they play it a lot on the radio. Of course, what blew me away is I had watched them play one afternoon on a pavilion in Biloxi (just a free outdoor gig) a couple months before they hit it big with Radar Love and this one. Great Band... too bad it was a relatively short career for the band.
