I wanted to take a break from working on this site to thank all of you for doing the most important part. Without your participation, whether it be racking up high scores in the game room or posting threads or just using this site to get your weather forecast, this site would not be successful without you.

Until the Baytown Sun closed its forums, we had a very small family here. Since then we have grown and our site has become more than just a piece of the web. The Baytown Bulletin Board now has a life of its own, and for that I thank you all. We've hit some rough spots, but I believe every site of this type goes through growing pains during its early stages and we are now running more smoothly than ever.

We've lost a few members along the way due to differences of opinions about the direction and handling of our site. Unfortunately, you can't please all of the people all of the time. I hope that those who have left will return and see that we have become a melting pot where all ideas and opinions are accepted and protected.

I'll close here before I get off track and start a novel. I can't thank you all enough for continuing to come back and honor our site with your posts and other participation. This site does not belong to me, it belongs to all of us. I hope we will continue to grow and increase our family as time goes by. Please remember that I am always here to receive your comments, suggestions and complaints. Just send me a private message.

Thanks and cheers!
Dorian, I've owned computers since the Franklin (a byte out of the apple; first fan-cooled. Remember?). First real "exciting" game was "Zork" (was that the name?); all script. Oldest son turned me on to Wolfenstein but, at first, I was reluctant to kill the dogs. Next thing you know, I was slaughtering ungodly beasts with a chainsaw as Duke Nukem. Then came "Doom" .... I have learned a lot about the outside of the pc and I mastered many Word Processing and Database programs BUT the innerds are off limits. My oldest son told me that after I deleted my first C:/ He is a network programmer technician consultant something or other (salaried) and a long time has passed since we could speak the same language. He just groans while I lay on the floor waiting for him to cure the latest error. I learned that those of you, the Wizards behind the curtains, are the only ones to be allowed in there. And, I do so admire and appreciate you all. I know that it must be satisfying to work on something that is only as limited as you choose.

You began this site because...you wanted to. And, you've done a fine job. It's all right to rest on your laurels now and then - five minute increments.

So, Thank you! Smile
Dorian, as you have probably noticed, I don't contribute a lot of deep thoughts or intelligent opinions, but I too think you have done an excellent job of creating and maintaining this site. Its fun and entertaining, as far as the debates, well some are interesting to read and the ones that aren’t….well.. I just don't read…Hmmm.thats an interesting concept.
Anyway… thank YOU and keep up the good work…
