I wouldnt say it's great, or that I loved it. It was good, I did not get sick, and I would go back. the service was not so good, but what do you really expect from a buffet? Actually, the service was fine until we got ready to leave. When we were ready to go, our waitress was no where to be found with the bill. We eventually went to the front and explained our situation to the hostess, and she went looking for the waitress. She came back saying that the manager had sent the waitress to the mall for something, and that she could not get our check because she did not have access to the computer system. I told her that we absolutely were not going to wait until the girl got back from the mall, and she could either go get the manager to fix the problem, or they could take care of the check. She left and came back with the manager, he printed the ticket and apologized, and we were on our way. It took a bit longer than I cared for, but it was taken care of, no one was rude about anything, and they apologized for the inconvenience.
My wife didnt care for it, but she went in with the attitude that she was not going to like it before she ever tried it. i do agree with her that they could have done at least SOME redecorating between it being panchos and bravos. It was still the same musty restaurant it has always been. But ,the food itself was good. if you are expecting El Toros/Lunas/Casa Ole, you might as well pick one and just go there. It is not tex mex, it is Mexican food. They had tripas, barbacoa, home made tortillas, empanadas, and some other things you wouldnt find in any of the 3 places mentioned above. so, if you are expecting it to resemble them, and that is all you are open to liking, then you are wasting your time going. If you go there, expecting something different than the typical tex-mex, and are open to try something you might have never had, I say go for it. The food actually reminded me of the food we had at the 5 star hotel we stayed at in Cancun. it was not quite as good, but it didnt suck. I'm going to make a trip to one of the other locations (they have on in league city i think, and there is on on fuqua somewhere) and give them a try as well. I'm sure the building itself will be nicer, so it will probably be a completely different experience.
