Of course the rest of the world would have thought so! Most of the rest of the world isn't a bunch of bungholes!
The girl who sang is cute. I don't know what they were thinking having another girl lip-sync for her.

I want to know who gets to decide what a "flawless" child looks like. I think it's sick that they are embarrassed or ashamed to have that little girl represent their country. Letting her sing in front of the world would not have damaged their image.

Evidently leaders from the "politburo" must be able to make that distinction!

"We had to do it," he said. "We'd been through several inspections. They're all very strict. When we rehearsed at the spot, there were several spectators from various divisions, especially leaders from the Politburo, who gave the opinion it must change."

I suppose those same people in China would choose to elect Obama too.....
If he were running for prez over there..
this whole thing makes me sick.
like most of you have mentioned.. things like this are what breed insecurity among children these days
those poor little girls.. i dont think even the nine year old truly understands what happened
the real singer is adorable if you ask me!

and i agree with the chinese blogger that said "If you're not good-looking, no matter how well you sing, you'll not be onstage. Do you know you're twisting a whole generation?"

i hope the officials who made this decision are proud of their "flawless" olympic image
maybe the chinese government should focus on REAL the real issues they need to tackle, like pollution and human rights; rather than finding the cutest kid to sing at the olympics.

anyway
what does any of that have to do with obama?
