Gee, I allowed my lap top to update adobe 9 and Explorer 8 earlier this morning and the run Crap Cleaner and my normal AVG. Well since the reboot after doing all that I can click on Explorer and get my favorites with a blank screen with a box that says, Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger has encountered a problem and must be shutdown.
I looked at the shortcut and properties of Explorer and all seems well except it's still version 7.0. I guess it didn't load 8.0. Nevertheless it's down for the count for as the Internet goes.

I think quickest, easiest fix would be to restore your OS using XP's "Restore Point". To get there, click "Start", "Help and Support", then select "Undo changes to your computer with System Restore" in the new window that opens. You can select a restore point from a previous date and that will revert your programs to the version and state they were in at that time. Your documents stay in tact, so don't worry about losing anything. I would give that try first. Good luck CS.
You know 8 Ball that is what I did after a good while this AM. I took it back to yesterday then to mid July and it still didn't get it. I tried reloading my drivers. If I could get online with it and loaded 8.0 I'd be done, but the machine says 7.0 is there but won't open because Dr Watson says so. I'll kick his ___ if I see him at Minute maid.
I'm off to the Stros game, chat later, CWS
There's so many ways to skin a cat..............
I used Mozilla Firefox to go install Explorer 8 and killed old 7. Got my Google toolbar back and I'm up and running. Guess I was the smartest.

lol Congrats on getting the problem fixed, CS.
Well 8 Ball, it's not completely healed. When I download Google Toolbar I start getting that message again to shut down. So i killed off the toolbar. This message is a txt in notepad and can't be deleted.
I guess when Dorian gets home we'll see something more like sell the laptop.
