Great, my house if filled with these bulbs. Our leasing office gives out boxes of them.
These bubls are made only in China, they contain mercury, they're expensive, they can cause interference with remote controls and wireless gadgets, they can fade pictures on the wall, if broken you must evacuate the room for 15 minutes, and by 2014 they will be your only choice of bulb. Rediculous.

Well, I didn't read the packaging either and I've thrown them in the trash NOT KNOWING I should have taken BIG PRECAUTION! BTW, mine didn't last the 7 yrs they were supposed to.
I can't believe these are going to be the only bulbs we'll be able to buy!!
You're right, I had one burn out after a few months and threw it away too. I have another one in my kitchen that has burned out and I've just left it up there because they are so expensive to buy. Now what do i do with it? I wonder if it's harmful leaving it up there for so long. It's been there for a couple of months.
Now there's something else I have to worry about poisioning my family!
