Hello everyone,
This is ggeorge2814. I know I have been banned, but I hope Dorian finds it ok, that I post this one last thing.
Being a website administrator myself, I understand the need to keep dedicated readers/posters to your site. While I posted many of my posts in the spirit of goodwill and rational discourse, I seem to have offended many of the religious on this forum. This was not my intent. I probably was a bit to blunt sometimes, but I think we can agree and all of us got a bit out of hand with insults, etc. from time to time. I truly wish that we could have progressed, and that offense wouldn't have been the response to what could have been decent, rational posts on a community forum.
One thing that I would like to leave everyone with is the notion that a community is made up of many different opinions, perspectives and thoughts. To eliminate and ignore the opinions that you don't agree with is a power that you posses, but you should ask yourself who benefits from this type of action? Does the community? Do the individuals?
I have no ill will towards anyone that I argued with on these boards. I had a good time and I wish that I could have been taken with more of a grain of salt. I also wish that I would have been given a warning, or something like that, so that we could have all made amends and hopefully progressed in our discourse. Sadly, this was not the case.
Dorian is a good person, with good ideas, and I don't mind that he banned me. I understand that sometimes, to keep the peace, you have to lean towards the majority opinion, even if it seems unreasonable. For now, I will take the oppression of the masses and move on.
Enjoy your board. Enjoy your collective mindset. Never let anyone persuade you to think beyond your ingrained traditions!
It was a blast.
Goodbye.
