I study the Bible from time to time and I'm kind of a techie guy, so I always wanted the Bible in a digital format. I found a fantastic way to study the Bible and I thought I'd share it with you guys. It's called eSword. With it, you can load multiple versions of the Bible, I currently have the King James red letter edition and the Amplified Bible. You can set it to read one at a time or up to four Bibles in a "parallel" format. You can also load multiple commentaries that make studying the Bible incredibly informative. I've found that between the two versions of the Bible and a couple of my favorite commentaries, I can easily spend an hour studying just a couple of verses. You can also load dictionaries to help. It has a built in feature that allows you to set up a daily reading and map out reading the entire Bible in either a matter of months or a year or two. I have mine set for one year, so my eSword has also become my "One Year Bible". You can load daily devotions as well.
So if you're a Bible studier or just a frequent reader, check out eSword. It allows you to read and compare multiple versions of the Bible, study commentaries on each verse, look up definitions of words, search verses for words, manage daily readings and daily devotions, it's a parallel Bible that comapares up to any four versions you choose, and much more. And best of all, it's FREE!
I recently loaded eSword on my PDA. Now I take the ultimate Bible with me in my pocket! Anyway, I hope this thread reaches someone looking for something like this.
