They don't always have the best restaurant score and I wouldn't get a steak there, but Country Cookin' has some good food to choose from. Their chicken fried steak is huge and really good. And I thought Rooster's had the best burger in town until I tried Country Cookin's. Their burgers are big, juicy, and very tasty. When you're sick of fast food burgers and you want a real burger, give them a try. My personal favorite at Country Cookin' is their fried zucchini and dipping sauce. Great as an appetizer or with your meal. One thing to note about CC is that their portions are HUGE. We can usually order a half order of fried zucchini and not finish it all. As I said, the chicken fried steaks are big, and I swear CC is the home of the world's largest baked potato. I had a friend that was 6' 4" and 340 lbs and even he couldn't finish a CC baked potato. I'm not exaggerating. This mammoth potato covers an entire large plate. It's silly to order one with your meal because most likely the potato will be bigger than the rest of your meal! And if you're a fan of chili (as most Texans are), they have many meals that incorporate chili such as chili burgers, bowls of chili, chili cheese fries, etc. I did have a steak there one time and probably won't get one there again. That's my only complaint so far is that the steaks (at least the one I had) are fairly dry and pretty much tasteless.

So check out Country Cookin' next time you want a big chicken fried steak or a great burger and a big glass of iced tea.

They do have a HUGE tater and the burger is big also. I've never sat down and had dinner there, just take out. My only complaint was it looked dirty......

Yeah, like I said, they don't always have the best restaurant scores. That may be from lack of cleanliness. But for food that good, I figure I'll take my chances once a month hehe.

I like CC as well. They have a great chicken fried steak. And it is huge, but you can order a smaller portion. They cut it in half.

Are you talking about the one next to International House of Pancakes and across the street from Lowes? I used to go there often awhile back,I go to Golden Coral instead now because the prices run about the same.But if I have the gas to waste I go to Daniels Meat Market over by the old drive in theater because I like BAR B Que there.
