I don't understand how a person can do this. How can an adult beat, slap, stomp and kick a little child to death? Their brains have to be wired differently than ours. It's just unfathomable to me. I'm glad they shot the guy, but it's so tragic they didn't get there in time to save the child.

You would think that if several people were there, a couple could have held him off until one got the child into a vehicle and locked the doors. I don't understand this at all. Poor little baby be at peace with Jesus.

I thought about that too. I don't know if they were frightened or if it happened so fast they didn't have a chance. But I'm with you, it seems like one person could have held the guy off long enough for someone else to grab the kid.
I am a female and I once fought a man for beating a child. Not spanking a child but beating a child. We fought hand to hand and I won, not because I was the better fighter but because I was so mad that the adrenaline kicked in. The reason I tell this is because I know I would not stand by and let that happen. I could not stand by and let that happen.
It's just a sad sad deal. That SOB would've got a knife from me. How can one do such a thing.....
